Health and safety policy





Statement of Intent
The health, safety and welfare of all employees and any person who is not an employee but who may be affected by the Company´s operation is of paramount importance to ITT Flygt Ltd.

The Company will take all reasonably practical precautions to ensure compliance with this objective by providing
 
A safe working environment by taking into consideration the design, construction and maintenance of all plant and equipment provided.
 
A safe system of work. The Company´s operations are not limited to workshop facilities but embrace site operations, with the associated risks of construction and maintenance work.
 
Adequate instruction, information, training and supervision.
 
A full assessment of all substances in use and work activities undertaken to determine any health risks resulting from these, together with appropriate controls and/or protection as may be deemed necessary.
 
Effective first aid facilities and medical surveillance programmes.
 
Effective fire prevention and fire control procedures.
 
Personal protective equipment as appropriate.
 
Employee awareness programmes.
 
Formal risk assessments, including industry genetic assessments where appropriate.
 
Formal safety inspection and audit programmes. safety communication programmes.
 
Formal documented health and safety policies.

Installation and service personnel receive appropriate health and safety training for the work undertaken, including
 
Work in confined spaces.
 
Abrasive wheels regulations.
 
Site safety.
 
Personal protective equipment.
 
Electricity at work regulations.
 
The use of emergency escape equipment.
 
Portable aluminium scaffolding.
 
Noise at work.
 
Slinging and banksman.
 
British Red Cross appointed person/ emergency first aid training.
